writing about Itaewon Class right after finishing it

JUST FINISHED WATCHING ITAEWON CLASS.

I know I have a deal with myself that I wont be that of a person who talk much about the whole korean drama and idol world and like others who can make a whole wattpad series (not just a casual review or an outpouring of feelings) about a certain drama or idol. I write because it is still warm in my head. We'll see if this get published or not (it will be, duh). For you who are reading this, be prepared to see my shallow opinion about the drama. And this is very subjective. I did enjoy the drama.

After watching the whole series for about three or so months (yes, I did stop for sometime because I was expecting that I would be disappointed), what I can say is:

  • I feel like, especially watching the first half of the series, I should be on that level of "caring that I am an adult and I have to take care of certain adult things" when I am not. This drama hit me a lot because I've always been in that thought for some years. How come a person set a goal for a really long term? And be that straight-minded? And well-principled? Daebak.
  • I'm kind of rooting for both male and female "romance second lead".. or how do I say it?? Yes, Soo Ah is kind of holding back for too long and umm too idealistic? But I stan for her maturity. I kind of prefer both Sae Ro Yi or her not ended up in any relationship though. Yes, Geun Soo is a kid but he is faithful and he took lessons lol. Maybe it is just me who kind of having an older sister soul inside that screams in pity. And to be honest, Geun Soo is the reason of my eager to write this review.
  • More about Soo Ah, I was startled by the way Dae Hee told her it was servility that drove her to respect him despite her hatred towards him. Of all the epic scenes in this drama, this particular meeting in Dae Hee's residence left mark on me.
  • I feel really really sorry for Geun Won and his brother for sure.. And I can see very well that through the same father, siblings can become in completely different character but they have the same root after all. Salute for the cast of Jang brothers!
  • I haven't read the webtoon yet because it's already gone from webtoon (am I right?), and I'm kind of regretting it because I had always see it updated but had no interest to read "the real story". Seeing the covers of the webtoon, are there a modification of the cast? Well that is normal for an adaptation drama/movie to do that.
Maybe that's all I can say. Salute for all the devoted casts and production team who successfully brightened up the first months of the pandemic!
I'm looking up to watch other old dramas, but now midterms are in front of my eyes so maybe later. Fun fact: I have to go through a "recovery" phase for like two-three weeks after watching a drama, some bits of it may still attached in my head for so long. I remembered finishing a drama and its background music hanged on my dream for days.
